Things all started at a young age for Dave Walker, when he was breakdancing in competitions as early as 8 years old. By the time he was 12, he, along with a crew of 5 dancers had won, not only the Scottish, but European freestyle dance championships, appearing on TV a number of times including all the popular Saturday morning kids shows in the UK!
In 1992 He began dancing as a professional breakdancer for the chart topping dance act QFX playing all the top clubs and events in the country and abroad. This included venues such as the Point in Dublin, Glasgow Barrowlands, Eden in Ibiza, Adventazia in Australia etc… He also appeared with the band on the institution that is now called Top Of The Pops and a whole host of Radio 1 road shows, the biggest being Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Show, in front of 100.000 people. Performing with the band meant that Dave was lucky enough to have the opportunity to DJ at gigs the band were playing, and shortly became the bands official DJ.
His DJ’ing skills grew the more they toured and he became very respected amongst other DJ’s for his natural technical ability. He realised that dancing was never going to last forever and that the next logical step up from DJ-ing was to produce his own music. 8 years on and Dave has mastered the art of audio production with a few releases under his belt which have gained the support from DJ’s such as Armin van Buuren, Andy Moor, Cosmic Gate, Joop, Re:Locate, Judge Jules (Radio 1), Ferry Corsten, Dave Pearce (Radio 1), Mark Sherry (Detox Records), Mallorca Lee (Public Domain, Debunk), Cellec (Cellection Music) etc…
Expect much more in 2007 from Dave Walker as he teams up with Ferry Corsten’s label Aleph Recordings. He is just getting warmed up!
